What Tarot Can Do For You
“Oh you’re a Tarot card reader! So you’re psychic?? Can you tell me my future?!”
In short: yes, no, and no.
I’m an intuitive empath. This means that I have the ability to sense the energies of others and interpret the reasons behind those energies with my enhanced senses – even from a distance. When people don’t exactly know how to put their feelings into words, I’m able to pick up on the subtleties and the sponsoring thoughts.
I’m the person everyone in my life goes to for advice. Even when people say they’re “fine”, I’m the one who knows when you’re really not. In addition to being an excellent listener, my life experiences and studies give me the breadth and depth to support others on their path.
But what about predictions? Tarot and other forms of cartomancy (card reading) do not tell the future. They give us an understanding of what is going on in the present – a snapshot, if you will – to help inform us of what may happen in the future if you continue in your current way. But remember – you have free will. Nothing the cards tell you are written in stone.
So what can a Tarot professional do for you? My job is to listen to you and your questions, then create a spread of cards that helps us both access our intuition. A reading is an exchange of energy between us, and you are an active participant!
Because of my extensive knowledge of the cards and empathetic intuition, I can support you in understanding the subconscious and subtle energies surrounding a situation so that you can plan for your future. The cards can also provide insight into how you came to be where you are today; I can guide you in reflecting upon your past and how those experiences are influencing you now.
My readings are intuitive, which means I use the cards as a tool to access my intuition. My readings are informed by traditional meanings, but my relationship with many of the cards has developed over the years to conform more closely to my own energies. Feel free to ask why my interpretation differs from your favorite.
My Professional Code of Ethics
I will serve the best interests of my clients, conducting my professional activities without causing or intending to cause harm.
I will treat all my clients with equal respect, regardless of their origin, race, religion, gender, age, or sexual preference.
I will not perform a reading for anyone under the age of 18.
I will represent honestly my Tarot qualifications, including educational credentials, levels of certification, and experience.
I will keep confidential the names of clients and all information shared or discussed during readings, unless otherwise requested by the client or required by a court of law.
I will recommend clients consult a licensed professional for advice of a legal, financial, medical, or psychological nature that I am not qualified to provide. If we find ourselves discussing an area in which I am licensed or otherwise qualified, I will clearly differentiate between the tarot reading and any professional advice additionally provided.
I will never refer my clients to any other person or resource in anticipation of acquiring kickbacks or other compensation. If a client asks for a referral, I will do my best to help.
I will not perform a reading that is specifically about a third party without the express, written consent of that person. Even with consent, I reserve the right to refuse such a reading.
I do not use the cards as a fortune telling device. Instead, I use them as a tool to help my clients understand their lives and gain insight into the situation in question.
I will interpret the reading to be best of my ability, and admit freely when I am unable to do so. I will tell the truth of what I see, and will respect the wishes of a client who does not want to hear everything I have to say.
I will answer questions about the reading to the best of my ability.
I will always work to better my skills so that I may serve my others to the best of my ability.
I will always work to remind my clients that they are ultimately the only ones responsible for what happens in their life, and that they should act according to their own conscience. The Tarot is not meant to dictate how one lives one’s life.
